Day 1 Thursday 11/10/11

Did you all have a nice long weekend?

We did!

Destination - Pismo Beach.

We left Thursday (Amy didn't have school Thursday or Friday) we switched cars with Kents dad and towed his jeep behind our motorhome.  Our first stop was Rincon State Beach.  Kent has been wanting to camp her for several year now and we finally did it! We arrived mid afternoon, Kent has a job going on right now in Ventura so we were able to get on the road sooner then expected and then Kent was going to leave me and the girls at the beach while he went to handle some things at the job.

This was our campsite for the day 1.

We decided to head to Sam's club and get a chicken and salad for dinner.  On our way, Kent received a phone call from a worker that the truck they were driving broke down just before the scales heading into Thousand Oaks.  So when we got to Sam's club we got on the internet (using their computers on display) and found a tow company.  while Kent was working on finding someone to come rescue the 4 workers, I was calling the tow.  Then the tow truck would only take 2 people in the wrecker, so me and the girls stayed in Sam's club while Kent drove to pick up the workers take them to the Ford dealer to wait for their ride.  Have you eve tried to entertain 2 kids in sam's club and not buy anything?  I am certain the security was watching me carefully.  We read books on the book aisle, we listen and danced to CD's on display, we tried to find the samples, but they didn't have much.  We did this for a little over and hour.  Finally Kent was back we got our ice, it was late and we were hungry so we left and hit up chick-fil-a instead.  After arriving back at the motorhome, we decided to have a campfire and a drink.  While enjoying our fire and family time, Kent received another call. This time it was the worker who just drove from Corona to Oxnard to pick the the 4 guys.  The truck he was driving had now broken down and wouldn't start.  So we put our fire out and Amy and I went inside, (Hannah was already fast asleep) while Kent left to return to the oxnard dealership.  Once he arrived he couldn't get the truck started either and realized he had left his wallet at the motorhome.  So the guys made some calls and arranged for 2 cars to drive from Corona to Oxnard to pick them all up.  Kent came back to the motorhome, exhausted and annoyed.  Poor guy he works so hard and always goes above and beyond his duties.  Truly don't know many people that would run all over trying to help workers while on vacation with their families.
