Sunday park trip

Last Sunday Kelly had a birthday celebration for two of the boys that we were not able to attend.  So we met them at a park by their house last night to let the kids run around and give them their gifts.  It was really cold outside here is Hannah all bundled up in her new hat!

Saturday

So after a very long and stressful week, I made us a yummy dinner of Ribs, mashed potatoes and salad.  Kent gave Hannah a rib bone to chew on and she LOVED it. Every time he tried to take it away she would cry and freak out.  I of coarse think its gross.  Then after dinner we decided to walk to the soccer fields by our house and try to fly a kite.  Not enough wind but maybe next time.

Play date at the park

Amy has been wanting to have a play date with Lauren and her kids, so this afternoon we met at the park.  They had a great time and burned off lots of energy.

We hiked up this hill and let me tell you its steep!
This was about half way up.

9 months

Today was Hannah's 9 month check up. She is 18 lbs 11.5 oz and 28.25 inches long.  They never said what the meant on the scale so I have no idea where she measures up.  Anyway, I thought she would get a bunch of shots today, but the dr. said she only needed her final HebB and that they would like her to draw blood to check her iron.  I can honestly say Rick and Amy never had that done.  So I skipped out without doing that.  Seems strange that she would have to go in and draw blood like you and me.  So I came home and checked Ricky and Amy's records and they both had 4 shots at 9 months.  Not sure if things have changed, does anyone know???

Leprechaun Trap

Apparently, there is a little green visitor who is rather mischievous running around Amy's class room.  He has been leaving green footprints all over the tables, he is knocking over books and leaving notes tormenting the children saying " hee hee hee, you can't catch me."  So the kids have all been asked to make a Leprechaun trap so we can catch him.  Here is our trap.  The hope is that the little booger will see the gold pieces on top of the hat and climb up the ladder to the top where the floor with give way and he will drop inside and SNATCH, we get him!!!

Princess Tea

Today was the Princess tea.  It was really cute.  The Choir did a great job representing the disney characters.

New Camera

I am so excited.  Kent and I have been looking at cameras since before Christmas.  We have been undecided on what we really want.  I really like the professional ones, but they are so big and with carrying a purse, diaper bag and baby I am not sure I would want to carry it all the time.  Plus, I don't see myself at a wedding or party and whipping out this hugh camera.  So we went with this one.  Its bigger and better then the one I have but not obnoxiously big.

Amy awards/ mom feels like a LOSER

I am so proud of my big girl, unfortunately I wasn't able to be there for her.  Amy received 3 awards at school yesterday.  1st. for knowing all her sight words, 2nd. for knowing sounds and letters and the 3rd. was citizenship.  She has been working hard and finally did it. Anyway, I feel like a total loser mom for not being there to see her.  Miss. Wilber sent home a note that she was getting an award.  However, it was a Wednesday and I am at work.  I was going to ask to leave at 9 to race to the school and I got caught up in payroll and Dr. came in my office and anyway, I forgot.  LOSER, who forgets about their children special event? ME!!  Anyway, her teacher called to make sure I was okay since NOBODY was there for Amy.  Yep, you got it I lost it,  I started crying at work.  I feel like such a bad mother.  Then when I saw her she said she was the only kid who didn't have anyone taking pictures of her.  Yep, that sure makes you feel great, NOT! I'm sure I am not the only parent to miss an award, but it doesn't make the way you feel about it any better.  My children are so important and I want to be around for ALL the special moments in their lives.  WAY TO GO AMY,  I AM SO PROUD OF YOU.

Newport Dunes, Camping for Linkyns 1st Birthday

This weekend was our friends daughters first birthday party.  She had it at Newport Dunes and several of us camped all weekend there.   It was a lot of fun and glad we were included in the festivities.  We got there Friday afternoon and just hung out by the fire and had a great time.  Can't wait for the next camping trip.

Home from Newport Dunes

So today we got up made breakfast and then a bunch of us went on a long bike ride.  I was so proud of Amy she really did well.  She had a few whines about her legs being tired, but she made it.  No picture of that, but here's Hannah in the trailer.

I just thought Hannah looked cute in her new big girl car seat.  We decided that in the motor home she sits side ways and it probably doesn't matter if she is facing back or not.  She is much happier looking around.  She looks so big.
So we are not even out of the park and I was making Kent a sandwich and Amy jumped in the front and buckled up, so I let her sit with daddy on the way home and I sat with Hannah in the back.  I did tell Amy not to get use to it, mommy is queen and gets the front seat!!!
We aren't even home yet and the munchkin is sound asleep in my seat!!!  I think the bike ride really tuckered her out.  So I sat in the back so she could sleep in my seat up front. Go figure.
