Father Daughter Dance 2011

Can you believe this is the 3rd father Daughter dance?

Friday night was ring in the New Year with your dad. Amy had to get a new outfit and shoes. Ah this girl is gonna cost me some money in the future. Daddy got a new shirt too.

Do you see hannah peeking out from behind Amy? That kid has to get into every picture.

Off they go, first to Rodrigo's for dinner and then to the school to dance the night away.

While Amy and daddy were out on "date night" I called my friend (Her daughter wand husband would be at the dance too). So we went to Victoria Gardens and had dinner at CPK, then we walked around. We laughed and talked it was so much fun. Her older daughter and her friend came along. Great for me because they LOVE pushing the stroller and helping entertain Hannah. Hannah loves it because its ALL about her!!

Daddy and Amy were home and in bed when we got home at get this after 11:00 p.m.! That was late for me and Hannah and Hannah was still awake! Thanks Michelle, Gabby and Devon for hanging out with us. We had a great time.

ZOKU

We were given a family gift from Kent's sisters family for Christmas this year. Have you heard of it? The Zoku, you put this part in the freezer for 24 hrs and then pour whatever juice you want into and 7 minutes later you have a popsicle.

With the girls being so sick the last couple of weeks, I thought I would make Gatorade popsicles to help replenish the electrolytes in their little systems. Well, frozen or not the would NOT drink or eat the gatorade! I tried it with Capri suns, nope they won't eat those either. However, I liked BOTH!!!

I guess the family gift is my gift, since I am the only one who eats the popsicles.

Wordless Wednesday..

Sick babies

Last Thursday the school called and said Amy was sick. No fever but stomach ache, headache and just plan old not feeling good. I picked her up from school at lunch time and she slept most of the afternoon. Friday morning, she was still moving slow but I made her get ready for school. While sitting at the counter for breakfast I looked at her face. Her eyes were red and had that look of not feeling well. So I took her temp and it was 102.6. Back to bed she went. Basically, she was sick with a fever all weekend. By Saturday night she was red, I mean her face her arms her legs and just feeling yucky. Ended up calling my cousin who is a nurse for advice and then called Kaiser as well. Sunday morning she was better but Hannah had a slight fever and crabby. Kent went and did some errands for me while I stayed with the girls.

By Sunday afternoon both girls felt better. So we did what any good parent would do, we went to Knotts for a few hours (We have passes so we thought a little treat after being stuck at home for days). As the afternoon went on, Hannah started getting a fever again and fell asleep on me while waiting for daddy and Amy to get off a ride. We finally left, by the time we got home both girls had fevers again and not doing very good at all. Monday, sent Amy to school and get this 12 kids from her class out sick with a fever and flu. Hannah had a fever as well and was in our bed all night burning up. The school called at noon and thank goodness for grandpa he went and picked up Amy while I deal with Hannah and got her down for a nap. I sent an email to the girls MD and she said there is a influenza going around that is causing the kids to have high fevers as high as 104.0! Yikes that is scary. She said the symptoms are headache, body ache, stuffy head, stomach ache, coughing, worn down and overall just feel yucky. She said that lovely fever is lasting 5-7 days!! What?? This is crazy. Anyway, today is Tuesday and I had to work today. Amy went to school and still is just not her self yet. Hannah had a fever when Kent picked her up. She doesn't want to do much. Hope tomorrow they wake up feeling back to normal. I hope I don't get it either!!!

Dutch oven

My in-laws bought me this lovely dutch oven for Christmas. I have been trying to decide what to make in it.

So Friday I washed her all up and made PW Beef, Beer and Paprika Stew.

The verdict; Just okay. Friday night it was a bit bland, on Saturday I reheated and added a couple of spices. It was much better day two! So I would make it again but I would spice it up for sure.

Boots

I love the Children's place. They have the best deals and prices on kids clothes.

I bought these boots for Hannah on line at Children's Place for $16.00. She loves them, she doesn't ever want to take them off.

I think they will keep her toes warm on the next riding trip.

So my cousin Kristin over at Organized Chaos (On my friends listI have it listed as Hayne Family) is participating in Wordless Wednesday and I thought I might be able to do that! Errands, park, horses and cute kids

Monday was a school holiday and I have been taking all school holidays off to spend with the kids. After all, I only gave my notice 6 weeks ago and still haven't found a replacement. Anyway, Amy had a sleep over at a friends Sunday night, so Monday it was just me and Miss. Hannah. We took our time with getting ready for the day. She had 3 different dress up outfits on AFTER I had gotten her dressed. So we just took our time. Here she is in her Final dress up and had to wear shopping outfit.

We headed off to the Dollar Tree to pick up some school supplies for Amy's class room. they have great deals for a buck. Then we headed off to Trader Joe's. Hannah always needs to push the little shopping cart. Anyways, as we rounded the corner of the frozen food aisle. I saw a familiar face, well it was Genn over at The Hass House (Could someone teach me how to input the link with out showing the whole web address)? We have been reading each others blogs for a couple of years but have never met until today. She is just as nice and as friendly as she is in her blog. We had a nice little chat and she met Hannah, it was so strange, like we new each other for years. The blog world is crazy I tell ya. We headed home and it was lunch time and nap time for Hannah. While Hannah was napping I made our dinner (chicken parmesan and put it in the fridge so all I would need to do is toss into the oven when I was ready). Good thing I did too, cause my friend called said the girls want to go to the park, by horseback and asked if Hannah and I wanted to meet them. Around 4:00 p.m. to left to the park. I snapped a few pictures of the horse ride down.

Once we arrived, it was packed! Not a big park girl, so I stress a bit about all the people and kids. The girls had a blast and I was able to visit with my friend.

By this time it was after 5:00 and I called Kent to get the dinner cooking. Amy wanted to ride the horse back up to the house and Hannah just wanted to ride the horse. So my friend put Hannah on Bowie and let her ride around the corral for a few minutes. This kid was in Heaven. Then we helped them get on the trail, Hannah and I followed in the car.

What a nice day. The girls had a blast, I was able to get somethings accomplished, met a new friend, visited with an old friend and enjoyed the smiles on my babies faces.

Life is good!

Saturday and Sunday Craziness

Saturday, Kent worked ALL day long. The girls and I stayed home most of the day. I did laundry and the girls fought oops I mean they played. We originally had a birthday party at Grandma Cozarts for Uncle Gary, but it was cancelled at the last minute. Seems that grandpa had a little mishap on his motorcycle, he is okay!! When Kent got home I just didn't feel like cooking. So we went to the usually Rodrigos for a quick dinner. I snapped a picture of Hannah before we left since she was the only one that looked cute.

After dinner we stopped by grandma and grandpa's house to check on grandpa. Yep, he was okay.

Sunday, I had the girls dressed so cute for church and I didn't take a picture! What the heck??? Oh, we changed and still looked cute, cause they just are cute. So they wanted me to take a couple of pictures.

Then they wanted to ride bikes, so I snapped a couple of pictures. Umm, no Hannah doesn't have a helmet on and after I took this picture, yes, I put a helmet on her. This girl can ride a bike like nobody's business. Sad she is growing up so fast. =(

PROOF, she does have a helmet on! Amy on her new bike, she LOVES it. Santa was so good to my girls.

So excited I get to be home with the girls today. However, Amy had a sleep over at her friends last night. So just enjoying some time with Hannah. We are off to Trader Joe's. Catch cha all later! Happy Monday folks!

All in a week

Is it just me or is it everyone, that each year gets busier and busier and harder and harder to find the time to do the things I enjoy? Its already been a week since I sat down and blogged. I have had time to blog stalk some of you. ;) Hope ya don't mind.

Well, I will start with Sunday, it was the usually busy day, church, Trader Joes and the grocery store. I made Potato cheese soup, thanks to my friend at the Hass house for the recipe and I paired it with PW meatloaf. If you haven't tried it I reckon you should. I am not a big meatloaf lover, but it is very good and makes for great sandwiches the next day.

Ah Monday Monday, so good to me.... I was off Monday, after dropping Amy off at school, Hannah and I came home, removed the Christmas lights from the house ( Yes, we have been busy and they were still up). Then I cut the rose bushes out front and swap the driveway and side of the house. Had I known that Friday would be so windy I probably would have not done that. Hindsight is 20/20. Plus, the laundry was done and Hannah and I had some time together reading books and playing. She was really enjoying the mommy and me time we had. Can I tell you something? I really enjoyed it too!! That Hannah is a crack up. After nap time we picked up Amy and started the dreaded homework for the week. While I started dinner. I made PW beef with snow peas and fried rice,I was having trouble remembering what I made this week cause I tossed the menu already. Yep, you read that right menu. I make a menu every week, then a grocery list from that, then I grocery shop. I know I am a freak, but thats what cha love about me.

Tuesday back to the grind and it was a busy day. I had a lady in for a working interview. I still like her, but Dr. and Karen not thinking she is the right one yet. We will keep searching. I made Steak, asparagus and fried potatoes for dinner.

Wednesday, I put some frozen chick in the crockpot and a few spices headed off to work. It was a very busy work day we had working interview for the Lab and it went well, Hired him and so far so good. He started on Thursday and I think he will be a nice addition to the office. Came home and made Chicken Flautas with beans for dinner.

Thursday, again a crazy day on and off. I put artichokes in the crockpot before leaving for work. They come out perfect every time. If you haven't tried it you should. Then every time I took one thing off my desk dr. or someone would put another thing on. Thats okay, I would rather be busy then have nothing to do. At least the days go by so much faster. Lets see I made breaded Shrimp, artichokes and raviolis for dinner.

Ahh, Friday, we took Amy to school. then Hannah and I went to the Dollar Tree in Norco, if you haven't been I suggest you go. they have great things for a buck! Then to my work for a couple of hours, still trying to get through my desk. Then we went to Walmart for dog food. Stopped my miguels Jr on our way home and out Hannah down for a nap. Ahh quiet time. Nope I had laundry to do and make so phone calls. Picked up Amy and her friend Carly from school for a playdate. The girls roller skated and played school, made a skit for us to watch, painted their finger nails and toe nails and painted on some cardboard. (Until Hannah messed up the paint and the picture, the joy of having a little sister). Made Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato basil soup for dinner, then we took the kids to Golden spoons on our way home dropped Carly off to her parents and called it a night!

Last day of Christmas vacation

Friday was the last of the the 3 week Christmas vacation for Amy. I wanted to do something fun and different, since I felt like the 3 weeks were packed with run her and run there for the holidays. I worked almost everyday of her vacation and then camping for New years, but we always camp. So i just wanted to do something for the kids. Well , Knott's has season passes for $59.99 each and Hannah is free until she is 3. So I called my friend Michelle and we headed to Knott's Berry Farm. What a perfect day, it weather was overcast and comfortable. No lines, no crowd, matter of fact the girls just stayed on a few rides to go again and again.

Hannah was so cute, she made the plane go up and down all by herself. She rode this 3 times by herself (without getting off),

then Amy joined her.

The small train ride was next. These 2 girls helped so much with Hannah. (Note to self always bring a older girl with you to the park).

Hot air balloon. Look at the smile on this kids face. She loved every minute of the entire day.

Race cars, the older girls couldn't ride this alone, they had to accompany a small child to ride. So they took the Amy and Carly on. (I went the first time with Hannah).

Amy has always wanted to go on the swings, well this year with a little help from standing on the back of her shoe, she could go on. I think she rode this 3 times.

The girls wanted to go on Ghostrider. Unfortunately, not a ride for Hannah. However she was so good about not going on rides, she just wanted me to take a bunch of pictures of her hanging around. So cute. She had no nap which could be very dangerous and she only had a couple of small meltdowns around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. But with all of us there she quickly snapped out of them and carried on.

Here they are on our way out of the park. It closed at 6:00 p.m. and it was just perfect.
