Amy, Hannah, Minnie oh my.

Apparently, I haven't posted in about a week. so I have some catching up to do.
Hannah is still in love with Minnie and doesn't leave her alone for a second.
We are continuing to work on potty training Hannah. She has a good day and then a bad day. When have tried so many things. She is so stubborn. You can ask her if she needs to go, she will say no then go and hide and pee or poop in her pants. Ugh.
This one lost another lateral incisor, that makes 2 in a week. The tooth fairy was a busy fairy at our house. Funny little pumpkin face.
Daddy worked a night shift 10:00 p.m. to sometime the next day, we had all left for work and school before he came home. So a certain 7 year old wanted to sleep with mommy. This is what she looked like in the morning. I guess my room is cold at night!! Usually in her room she is on top of the covers!!
Every morning when we go get Hannah out of her crib, Minnie runs in and jumps up to give her kisses. So cute.
I think thats the week in a nut shell. Stay tuned for Halloween stuff.

Minnie's Mishaps

How can this little cutie
Do this to my garage?
Apparently, she didn't like being locked in there.
Last week with the rain, I was feeling guilty locking Minnie in the back yard while we are all at work. So One afternoon, I left her in the house just for a couple of hours. She did GREAT! Nothing chewed, no accidents. So the next day I decided to leave her in the house when I went to work, this time it would be a 5 hour stay alone. Well, nothing was chewed but she pottied in 2 different spots on my living room floor. So I put her outside for the rest of the afternoon. Then next day more rain, so I decided to lock in in the garage and when Rick came home for lunch she had chewed and scratched at the drywall. Plus she pooped in the garage. Then Saturday Morning, she was in the house will all of us and I went to get coffee and I could smell poop in my dining room. So I looked all around and sure enough she pooped twice under my table! That meant more scrubbing for me. Needless to say when we are not home for any length of time, she has to be out back. We will keep trying short periods of time in the house alone. She is such a sweet puppy and we all love her so much.

I need an intervention

Oh my gosh, I burned my forehead this week so bad. It was on Thursday morning. It sizzled. It hurt. The skin peeled immediately. It throbbed and it hurt the entire day. (Here it is 3 days later and it STILL hurts!)
This was taken on Friday morning.
Saturday Morning.
Sunday Morning.
I know what you are all thinking, why was a curling iron this close to your forehead. In the 21st Century we use a round brush and a blow dryer. I know and I get it. However, after 25 plus years of doing my hair the same way and using a curling iron, its just how I roll. I will say that I am trying to ween myself from this old school contraption. I have tried to use the round brush but my hair being SO fine, it just doesn't stay. I was told a better brush and stronger hairspray and my life will change! I think I am just not coordinated to use the blow dryer and round brush. I have had my hair all wrapped up and tangled. Seriously when it comes to my hair I am so dysfunctional. Give me someone else's hair and I can make them look so cute!
Can someone help me with my intervention?

Another tooth!

Ok so it's not this one!
(She wanted me to take a picture of her because I was taking so many of Amy)
However, this one has lost ANOTHER tooth!
Upper left primary lateral tooth, gone like the wind.
The tooth fairy came again leaving another $3.00 for a stinkin tooth!
I believe this is #7! At this rate the tooth fairy is gonna be broke!

Amy 2nd grade picture

Look at this beautiful girl!
I cannot believe she is a 2nd grader.
Where has the last 7 years gone?
Wasn't it just yesterday I was holding her in the hospital?
So proud of my little 2nd grader!
I love you so much sweet Amy.

Let's move onto Sunday, shall we?

I never thought I would be done posting Saturdays events but I finally finished. So I was so exhausted on Sunday and I didn't sleep well Saturday night, so Kent let me sleep in and he took the girls to church all by himself! I can't tell you the last time I was home "alone" on a Sunday morning. ("alone" because Rick was home but sleeping.) Anyway, I slept in a bit, then came out to the kitchen and read the paper (mainly the ads) drank a cup of coffee, took a long shower and got ready for the day ALL by myself! What a treat! Kent came home with donuts and then we went to do the usual Sunday chores. While at Trader Joes we stopped by Sur La Table so I could look at some soup bowls. So I spend the rest of my Birthday money and only went over $6.00. WOOT WOOT!
My loot consists of 4 crocks, meatball maker, 2 wine corks, 3 cookie cutters and a girl kitchen brush! Isn't she cute?
I made french onion soup in my new crocks (PW recipe) Awesome and a spinach salad with homemade dressing to boot.

Chili cook off

Are you kidding me? I am still posting stuff from last Saturday!
So after the Nokia Theater and after visiting Rachel in the hospital and after getting home at 4:30 p.m. I whipped up a batch of Corn bread to go with the Chili I whipped up before leaving this morning.
Here is my Chili, I took to the cook off.
PW corn bread that NEVER made it from my house because it was gross.
It was tossed right into the trash. What a waste of time! UGH.
When we arrived (next door) Katie was letting the kids ride her horse. So Amy got to ride and get this ALL by herself! She was proud. She was smiling from ear to ear.
Then Hannah wanted to ride, so Katie walked them both. Katie told Hannah to tell her daddy she wants a horse every time they walked by. It was so funny.
These girls where so happy to be on this horse.
Now for the Chili Cook off, they had two tables with 10 crocks full of all different Chili's.
We tasted everyone and then wrote down your top 3 and also voted for a favorite name.
Sadly, mine never even placed. ($50.00 bucks to the winner and $10.00 for the name)
However, we did have a great time.
Thanks Brown Family for including us and a BIG thank you to Katie for letting the girls ride your horse!

Visiting Rachel and Madie

Saturday Continue. Yep thats right after Saturday at the Nokia, we decided to stop by Verdugo Hills Hospital to see my cousin and her new baby Madie 7lbs 3oz and 19 3/4 inches long born on Friday 10/15/10. She is ADORABLE! I couldn't believe it but they allowed other children in the hospital room, so my pumpkins got to meet their new little 2nd cousin.
This is my Cousin Diane holding Madie. (Can you tell Hannah is teething?)
My little mini me Amy took this picture of me and Madie. I was trying to think of a way to smuggle her out. She is way to sweet.
Diane and Hannah
Amy with Aunt Rhonda aka Madie's grandma.
(She doesn't look like a grandma does she?)
Aww, Rachel holding her baby. FYI, Rachel is the youngest of us 13 grandkids. I remember babysitting her during the summer while her parents worked. Seems like just yesterday we were fighting over who gets to carry her around. Playing babies with her and I mean she was the baby. Poor kid, surprised she survived!
Congratulations Rachel and Slaven.
She is a precious and beautiful baby girl!

Nick Jr. Story time live

So my friends and I took the kids to see Nick Jr. Story Time Live on Saturday at the Nokia Theater. Here are all the girls from left to right; Payton, Hannah, Celeste, Amy and Linkyn. Hannah wanted to hold Payton's hand so bad and walk with her, but Pay wanted her momma to hold her.
Can you tell they were excited to be there?
Tawnya and Payton, I think Payton must have turned her head! She is a little out of focus.
Ki Lan
Backyardigans
Wonderpets
Dora!
Trying to get a cute shot of the girls.
Overall, I had fun with the girls, but I thought the show was boring. Hannah during the first half was not excited at all. She wanted popcorn and was wondering the aisle. At intermission I went and got a popcorn and 2 waters ($12.50 btw) then Hannah sat and ate and watched the last 2 shows. Amy was it was boring but Dora was cute. Hannah said she hated it! The other little girl Celeste looked like she was loving it, but she is 3 so age was probably a hugh part of who likes it and who doesn't. The Nokia Theater was very nice. I would not recommend it unless you had kids that were just crazy for these show. I think it was expensive for what it was, but still a fun time.
