Friday, we headed to the river. Bullhead City to be exact! We didn't suffer to much from the terrible accident on the 91 fwy. It added about 45 minutes to an hour to our drive. Here is Hannah watching a movie on the way. She is so funny when we get in the excursion she yells 3-4, 3-4. However, what she really means is 2-4 when changes the front and back speakers to split control! LOL.
Saturday, when we woke up the weather was very windy. So we decided to launch on the river about 10:30 a.m. We went down to the new sand bar (at least new to us). We were anchored by the monster boat which was awesome cause we got 3 free monsters!
These knuckle heads, well the one in the middle Chad works with Kent. He tried to launch his boat with us and the engine wouldn't start so him and his friends jumped on our boat. We first went to Pirates Cove for a bit. That place is hopping! Then we headed to the sandbar.
The guy on Kents' left is Will, he was one of Chads friends.
Amy sunbathing.
Hannah warming up from the river water! Burr it was cold.
The gang.
On the way back to the launch ramp, there were some kids jumping from this mountain. So we pulled over to let the boys jump.
Climbing down to the jumping spot.
And away they go!
I think we finally arrived back to the house about 6:00 p.m. Awesome first day on the water!
Sunday, when we woke up. more wind! So we decided to do the same thing launch on the river. We had heard the day before the waves in Havasu where 6 feet and that a few boats had sunk. We didn't want any part of that on Mohave, so we steered clear.
We found a nice sandy beach and the girls played.
and swam.
and looked cute.
Kent and I relaxing on the beacj.
Lunch time.
Then we decide to head up river, we went all the way to the dam. We shut the engine off and floated for the longest time. It was so fun and relaxing. The girls played in the water and kicked their feet and enjoyed the sun.
Looking at The Riverside Hotel. We saw a few people we new as we drifted and floated.
When we got back to the launch ramp, we saw this boat. I watched them get it out of the water (while I was holding our boat and waiting for Kent to come back with the car) I kept thinking, why would he take his prop off before he got the boat out of the water? Well after closer examination and zoom on my camera. The prop is on, seems like this ding dong hit something on the river. Click to enlarge, its pretty funny!!!
Happy Memorial day. Thank you to all the service men and women who risk their lives everyday to get me and my family a safe place to live!! You are an amazing group of people and we honor you not only today but everyday!
