Mother's Day weekend part I

Hi from Bullhead City!!
We arrived here Thursday night.
We loaded up the boat and headed to the water.  This is Katherine's landing.  Normally, we would NEVER launch here.  However, today there was NO line.  Parking the car and trailer was close, so we decided why not ?
My girls, ready for the boat ride and happy to be on the water and NOT at school.
Testing the water and feeding the ducks Hot Cheetos.  The ducks loved them!
 me and my hubby.
Hannah trying out the knee board.
Amy deciding if the water was too cold to knee board this morning.
Sweet baby! When did she get so big?
NOPE, not too cold!  She did awesome!  She even learned how to turn.
She will be shredding in no time!
The girls wanted to tube.  So we let Amy take Hannah out by themselves.
Picture isn't very good, but I thought it was so cute of Hannah, She was LOVING it!
Okay, so I decided to give the knee board a try!  I am not strong enough to pull my butt up!  So I just rode like this. HAHAHAHA!  I better work on my arm strength for next trip!
Since I did it Kent decided he had to give it a try too.  This is the maiden voyage for the Knee board.  Of coarse he gets up NO problem and cuts across the wake, jumps and just plane shows off. =) I was driving the boat and we had our minor child (Amy) flagging and taking pictures so we only went a short time.  I wish I could have watched him do his tricks.
Happy 1st day of Mother's day weekend. See ya later.

Thoughts and New fines

Hi! How are you?  What a crazy week.
Can you believe Bin Laden is dead?  How do you feel about that?
I feel GREAT about it!  He is resting in Hell now, right where he belongs.
A big THANK YOU to all that service our Country.  To all those who have lost a loved one since 9/11, I hope you can find peace in his death.

New fines:
I believe my friends Genn or Erika posted these bars in the past.  They are called Think Thin.  Oh my are they good.  I bought a couple at Trader Joe's over the weekend.  Yesterday my breakfast was a Kefir Smoothy and they usually don't keep me full until lunch, so I tossed this bar in my purse and headed off to work.  Around 10:30 a.m. I was getting very hungry and grabbed the bar.  Let me tell you YUMMO!!  I got a mixed nuts with chocolate on the bottom.  It has the least amount of Calories out of all the Think Thin bars.  When I came home for lunch at 12:30, I wasn't even hungry.  I made myself a salad anyway otherwise by mid afternoon I am sure I would have been starving, my coworkers probably wouldn't like me much if I didn't eat.
I recommend you get some of these bars asap!!
Next, we stumbled across this wine at TJ's as well, its a sweet white wine.  Oh my gosh, we took this camping a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it by the fire, do you remember that post?  Well, now its a regular in the basket when we shop.   Seriously, go get it NOW!
And the last new fine is ME!!
I have been working hard on losing this fat  ahem, weight!
This morning I am almost 35 lbs lighter in 90 days.

I am still plugging away at it, I figure I have anywhere from 29-40 more lbs to go.
(29 puts me about 10 lbs heavier then when I got married, 40 puts me at my wedding weight).
However, I am taking into consideration that I am older, I want to feel comfortable in my clothes and with myself.  So when I get to that point, thats when I will start to maintain.
This week, I increased my exercise to twice a day.  After I drop Amy off at school, I push Hannah in the stroller for a 20- 30 minutes.  Then I go again at night by myself.  Where I can brisk walk / jog alone.  I didn't use to like exercising myself however, I have been doing it so much now that I actually ENJOY it.  If I don't go at night I feel yucky and I really like the me time, I put my ipod on and get lost in my thoughts and music.
Hope you guys all have a great Wednesday!

Roommates

I hung up the roommates in Hannah's room.

She said Thank you mommy, I love my new room.
Then she gave me the biggest hug and kiss.
She is such a sweet baby. If only everything was so simple.

The stickers really added some character.  Now I need to find a few Fairy pictures to hang.
Happy Monday!

Play date and mail

This week the kids had STAR testing at school. What this meant for us was NO homework ALL week.
So on Wednesday Amy's friend Carly came home after school for a play date.  Earlier in the day Hannah and I went to the store for some dinner supplies and I bought a cake and frosting for the girls to make after we got home.
The girls frosting the cake.
Hmm, I think they liked it.
 Look at that concentration.
Geez, Amy really gets into it.  Check her out all up on my counter with her after school funk feet! HA!
 Three very proud girls.
I split the cake in 3 sections so they each had a little bit to decorate.  Oh my gosh the cake was good.  I might have taken a small bite.  Then I packed up the cake and took it to Carly's house ya know to share the love and so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat it all week.
The order:
Hannah       Carly           Amy
A couple of months ago, I was looking for wall art for Hannah's room.  I bought the fairy bedding and she needed a little face lift from baby room to toddler room. My cousin Melissa had shared a link with me.  Roommates on amazon.  They are the peel and stick removable stickers.  So I ordered them.  When I was on amazon they were had PW children's book on pre sale, so I ordered it too.  Then I found HG recipe cards, so yep I order them too.
(I think I might have to go back to working full time).
Anyway, because I ordered everything with the pre sale, NOTHING shipped until the pre sale items was available.  BTW, I was very annoyed with amazon over this. I will NEVER order pre sale again with other items.  So I waited and waited. It all finally came!
I love love love the stickers, The book is very cute and the girls like it.  The recipe cards, well I am so excited to make something this weekend.
Happy Friday everyone.

Monday night madness

As you may or may not know, I walk / jog almost every night around my neighbor.  Sometimes Kent and the girls join me but most nights they just stay home.  Well, Monday night Amy really wanted to join me.  Her bike had two flat tires and I suggested she stay home.  She said no I really want to go with you so I will just walk.  So we walked, I like to brisk walk and Amy was having a hard time keeping up.  Then she started jogging so I joined her.  Pretty soon she was very tired and was asking me to slow down.  We made it back home, she jumped into the shower and headed to bed.  As soon as she laid down she started coughing and wheezing.  She came into my room and I tried to get her to slow her breathing down.  Still no relief.  After about 40 minutes of her coughing and wheezing I woke up Kent. (Kent has had asthma his WHOLE life, so I figured he could help me make a decision on what to do with Amy).  I said Amy is having a hard time breathing should we take her to Urgent care?  He half awake, said she is fine.  I said no listen to her. He put his ear to her chest and said just relax your breathing nice and slow.  I said NO Kent listen to her back!  He said ya she sounds pretty wheezing, then would lay back down.  I WAS so annoyed at him.  Really I was getting quite pissed off.  This is his baby too, how is he sleeping and not helping me right now? UGH.  Finally, I said Amy is it the same, worse or better.  She said getting worse. I told Kent we are leaving to Urgent care, apparently he was asleep and didn't hear me.  We (me and Amy) both put on some sweats and left for the Kaiser Urgent Care in Riverside about 9:30 p.m..  We arrived just before 10:00 p.m. and checked her in they took her right back to check her oxygen level which was good.  They said have a seat and we will have her seen by a physician.  They said there was 1 person ahead of us.  I was thinking ugh, the waiting room had about 30 people in it ALL there before us.  (Urgent care closes at 10:00 p.m.) I was stressing that Amy was going to stop breathing or something in the waiting room before we would be seen.  However, to my pleasant surprise, just as we sat down and Amy climbed on my lap, the door opened and they called us back!  Took us to the room and a doctor was right behind.  Great, he ordered a steroid liquid and a breathing machine within a couple of minutes Amy was hooked up and feeling better.
We had just entered the room, as I was whipping out my camera the doctor walked in.  I told him I was a blogging fool and had to document everything in our life, the good the bad and the ugly!  He looked at me a little funny but then attended to Amy right away. =)
Poor kid, I felt so bad for her.
As soon as the medicine was gone in the breathing machine, doctor was right back into the room.  He ordered her an inhaler and more steroids to take for 4 days.  By the time we left the Urgent care, she was back to herself.  She had a good color again and you could see in her eyes she was better.  Then we headed to the pharmacy to get the meds.  We finally left Kaiser about 11:15 p.m. and made it home by 11:35 p.m. I think we both climbed into bed just about midnight.
Fast forward to Tuesday 4:45 a.m..  Kent kissing me goodbye and says, hey what did you decide to do with Amy last night?  Really? (Still annoyed) He had no idea we left.

Easter Part II, final chapter

After church we came home changed into jeans and sweatshirts.  I made and packed a lunch for all of us.  Then we headed out to Knott's Berry Farm.  I know what you are thinking this doesn't sound very "Easter" like.  My mom's side of the family has a huge Easter party at my Aunt and Uncles house in Newhall, CA.  We thought about going but its an 1.5 hrs each way and so we decided to take a family vote and let the kids decide.  Rick and Amy said stay home and do something fun here, Hannah wanted to go see papa.  Two against one so we stayed home.  Anyway, we headed to Knott's.  We arrived about 11:30 a.m. and ate the lunch I packed in the parking lot.  (They don't allow outside food in the park, dumb but it ain't no Disneyland)  I smuggled in the rest of the snacks and water via the stroller. =) We picked up Ricks pass the Easter Bunny got for him and headed in.
Look at my 3 beautiful babies. (I sure am a lucky mommy).
While Rick, Amy and I were on Sidewinder, daddy took Hannah to see the Easter Bunny.
Rick and Amy went on Montezooma's Revenge while Daddy and Hannah went on the ferris wheel.
 Hannah loved it!
( I hate the ferris wheel, I will not go on it.  I will go upside down,  fast whatever but I hate the ferris wheel).
Hannah was getting a little jealous, Rick was going on so many rides with Amy and Daddy and me for that matter, she wanted to ride the race cars with Rick.  Being the great brother that he is, he jumped right in and rode along.
Amy was a little bit bent that brother was riding with Hannah instead of her.
While Daddy and Rick ran over to the Montezooma's Revenge again Hannah rode the log peeler.
Amy was pretty happy to be here and with her boots she was going on so many rides that otherwise she would be to short to ride.
Rick wanted to go on Riptide and Kent thought you would get wet so he didn't want to ride.  I wasn't sure what it did so I decided not to go either.  No problem for Rick he started chatting up with the young girl next to him! LOL  BTW, after seeing this ride, I am glad I sat out! =)
Amy and Rick went off to another coaster and daddy took Hannah on Joe Cool Skate.  This kid has no fear, she loved everything.
By now it was getting late almost 6 p.m. and we were tired and hungry.  Rick wanted Fuddruckers and after all its only a couple of blocks away.
Easter Dinner at Fuddruckers = YUMMY!!

Ricky said this was the BEST Easter he has ever had.  Amy then agreed, so although I missed seeing my extended family on Easter, it was so worth the smile on my families faces.
Oh and Kent and I both prdered a salad with grilled chicken and used balsamic vinegar for dressing.  Are you good or what?  So motivated.
 HAHAHA, the ride home
The only one that had taken a couple hour nap at Knotts so she was ready to still go go go!
Happy Easter everyone.

Diet update: Kent 42 lbs

Easter part 1

Easter will be a II part series, because we packed so much into one day.
We had originally planned to be at the river for easter however after watching the weather we decided it was still a little cool to be on the water.  I was able to let the Easter bunny know we would be home this year. ;)
Easter morning the girls woke up and went looking for their baskets.
(I use the same basket each year.  So far no one has questioned that. I wonder how much longer I can pull that off)?
Hannah found hers right away.
I thought this was cute, Hannah following Amy to help her find her basket.
She found on the chair in the dinning room.
They wasted no time in digging into those baskets.  Hannah didn't care about anything other than the dollar and the change in the elmo egg.
Amy was NOT amused with her elmo eggs.  =)
However, the giant box of whoppers made everything better.
Amy got a bathing suit, cover up, white tank, whoppers, a dollar, barrettes and a necklace.
Hannah wanted nothing to do with her loot, she was way to worried about putting her money in her piggy bank.  However, she got a bathing suit, cover up, hair pretties, red vines and dora stickers.
Then we put o our Easter dresses and went to church.
When we came home Rick was up and Amy told him to find his basket.  They looked all over.  She finally found it for him between the couches.  He got some of his favorites reese's and an annual pass to Knott's Berry farm.  He was VERY excited.  Not bad for an almost 21 year old to still get visits from the Easter Bunny.  I bet its times like these that he is VERY happy to have 2 young sisters.  =)
See that basket Rick is digging in with the blue ears?  Well, that basket has been around for about 19 years.  I have filled that basket almost his whole life with goodies treats and more.  then put it away for the following year. He was about 2 when I found it.  He never once said a thing about it, maybe he thought it was like a stocking at Christmas)?
Stay tuned for Easter Part II.  I will be back in the morning to post the rest.
