Feb 2011- Sept 2011

The 17 day diet has changed us forever!

Kent is pretty much at his goal weight and really just needs to maintain it.
He looks great!  So very proud of him.
As for me, I have about 28 more lbs to go.  I feel like I am finally hitting a plateau and can't get past it.  Is there any fit friends out there that can help me out?
Please give me some advice to get the last weight off!
Thanks in advance! ;)

Not so wordless Wednesday

My girl friend asked me to babysit her daughter Ever on Mondays and Thursday nights while she takes a Boot Camp Class.  Monday we had Ever and she was not so excited to be here.  She calmed down after about 15- 20 minutes.  Then she crawled any where Amy went.
Amy wanted to play with her so bad, she had set up a toy area, but Ever was not having that at first!
After she calmed down she sat next to Hannah and the baby doll, I thought their little feet looked so cute. Look how tan Hannah's legs are!
Not sure what the look is on Hannah but lately she does this very cheese smile.
Here is Ever!!  She is a little sweetie.  I can't believe she will be 1 next month.
Happy Wednesday!!

Palm Springs Birthday Bash

My good friend Danielle had a 30th birthday party in Palm Springs this past weekend.
You could go for the whole weekend or just for a night.  We decided to just go Saturday morning and stay one night.  It was an adult party only.  This is awesome for Kent and I,  we do so much with our kids and have hardly had any alone time lately.  On Friday after the 9/11 assembly I went to get a pedi done to match my shoes and dress.  I also wanted to get my eye brows done, now don't laugh at me, I have NEVER done that before and I was scared.  I usually trim them up myself but I thought this was a good excuse to do it.  They looked so much better.  Why hadn't I been doing this before?  Seriously people, why haven't you my friends or family told me to get this done!!
On to Saturday.
So we dropped the girls of at Grandmas and Grandpas about 8:00 a.m. (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for watching them!  You guys ROCK!)  Then we headed to Palm Springs, we took our time getting there and actually had a conversation in the car.  It was so nice.  We checked into our room about 10:30 a.m..  We stayed at the Hyatt Regency.
Our living room area.
Bathroom
Bedroom with a balcony and chairs, but it was way to HOT to sit our there.
Then we headed down to the pool to find the birthday girl.  I was not feeling the lay in the sun part, so Will, Tawnya, Payton, Kent and I walked done the strip to CPK for lunch.  We had so much fun.  Then we walked back, had a few drinks with everyone by the pool, Linda had planned for some of us to get our make up done at the MAC counter.  So I went back up to the room to freshen up and meet up with the ladies.  Don't laugh at me, but I have NEVER had my make up done professionally either!  Not even on my wedding day.  (My friend from work did it for me). That was so much fun!  We had girl time and laughing, I loved it.  I felt so pretty!  Why haven't I done that before either?

Hanging by the pool, pre make up!
Kent was trying to get the camera set up.  He had had too much to drink and I told him the camera was too low.  However its the only picture that anyone took that showed my shoes!!  What the heck?  Anyway, Thank you to Tawnya and Will for coming to my room and taking a few pics for me. =)
Here is the one Tawnya took.
Will, Pay and Tawnya, Sexy looking people right here!!
Off to the party, they had rented a room with a dance floor, a bar, photo booth and some yummy looking treats all around.
 Linda, me, Brenda and Tawnya.
I had to crop Kent out of this picture, I tried to photoshop a blemish on his face and it turned black, what the heck?  Anyway, I couldn't reverse what I did, but I liked the way I looked so I cropped him! HAHAHA
Jill, The birthday girl: Danielle and me!!
I forgot to mention is was a "fashionably white" party, thats why we are all in white.  It was so fun and  everyone looked awesome.
The only kids Pay and Link!
They were very entertaining.
 HOT mama!
 Me and Kent!
Oh my gosh, the photo booth was so fun!

 Me and Tawnya
Me, Danielle and Tawnya
The party ended at midnight, then a bunch of us walked across the street to NYPD bar, we drank and danced and party until the bar closed at 2:00 a.m..  We were not done yet, after making sure a couple of people got back to their room safely, some of us headed to Neal and Dany's cabana room and sat by the pool until about 2:30 or 2 :45 a.m..  I think I finally crawled into bed about 3:15 a.m..  Then Sunday morning, no kids and I was up at 6:55 a.m.. Why is that?  Needless to say I was exhausted yesterday.  Hubby had a bit much to drink the night before, he was pretty out of it yesterday, matter of fact I drove us home!  That NEVER happens. LOL  We stopped at Ruby's for breakfast and filled up the car at Morongo, I think we pulled into Grandmas driveway about noon.  We came home and put Hannah down for a nap, then Kent and I took a nap too!
Happy 30 birthday Danielle
Thanks Danielle for including us in your birthday bash!  We had such a great time.  You ROCK sister!

Remembering 9/11

Amy's school had an assembly to honor 9/11 fallen heros.

 Here are my sweet girls.
Hannah fits right in, can you see her in this picture?
Norco High ROTC performed.  They did awesome.
Mayor of Norco made an appearance.
Norco Fire station #21 Came out. The firefighter on the end went to New York on a task force to help find people in the rubble.  He brought the helmet he wore on that mission.
We had Norco Sheriff and K-9 unit too, but I guess I didn't get a picture of them.

September already?

Hi!  How are you?  Did you have a nice long weekend?
Can you believe its September?  What do you think about this HOT weather?
I am sure you can guess where we were for Labor day weekend.
We originally planned to leave Friday night, Kent had to work in Ventura and knew he would be late getting home.  So we changed to leaving at 5:00 a.m  on Saturday.  that way we could get to the river, unload the car, load the boat and get some food for the day and still be able to enjoy the water.  With the fire we had Friday night on the Cajon Pass,  I was happy we didn't try to get through that mess.  Anyway, Kent got home around 10 p.m. Friday night.  I was almost asleep when he got home. Last week was very draining for some reason.  Anyway, we didn't end up leaving until 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning.  We didn't have any traffic which was VERY nice.  We stopped at Del Taco in Barstow for breakfast.  Then onto the 40, well after driving a bit we heard of a couple of accidents.  One at Essix Rd and they need a life flight helicopter.  The other was closer to us, we ended up coming to almost a complete stop on the 40, they had the fast lane closed and as we drove by we could see the feet of a man hanging out of the ambulance.  They must haven been going fast, the minivan took a good portion of the center median.  Hope they are all okay
Finally, made it to the river.  While Kent loaded the boat I ran to subway and got lunch for the day and ice.  Loaded the ice chest and we were on the lake by 11:30 a.m..  It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
AMy knee boarded for a short time, but she doesn't like the handle on the new ropes so she doesn't spend the whole day doing stuff. =(
We found a nice sandy beach!  We relaxed and played in the water.
Can you see who is resting on the tube?  Its Kent, he NEVER rests on the tube.
He is always go go go!
After a while Kent suggested since the weather was amazing to pack up around 4:30 or 5p.m. and head to Cottonwood cove, have dinner in the cafe on the water and then head back to the launch ramp after that.  Perfect idea.  While we were packing up the beach, I had a terrible thing happen, my shoe broke!  Not just any shoe either but my river shoes. When Kent and I met 10 yrs ago, he took me on my first river trip with him, my mom gave me a pair of her shoes to wear.  I have used these shoes every summer at the river for 10 YEARS!! Now I know some of you are laughing and probably think its time to put those shoes to rest, but I love them.  They actually stay on my feet while walking in the water.  Unlike flip flops that you have to shuffle all the time in.  Lucky for me Kent had some electrical tape in the boat and I was able to repair them for a short walk on the dock to the cafe.
We were the only ones in the cafe.  The girls don't cha just love the river look?
How come Kent looks good and my hair is a train wreck?
The girls wanted to sit at the counter and look at the marina.  Look how beautiful it is!
After dinner we walked into the store and bought me a pair of flips and I said a prayer to my shoes and carefully laid them down in the trash.  Sniff sniff RIP beach shoes......
Then we walked through the camp ground to check it out. It was getting dark so we decided we better get a move on it.
We were leaving the dock and I had forgotten to take a picture of the Cafe, Sorry this is the best I could get.
We arrived back to the dock about 8 p.m., it was dark and the launch ramp was packed.  I usually dive the boat, while Kent gets the car.  Then I usually drive the boat on the trailer. Well, with it being so dark and i didn't have any glasses I decided to hold the boat at the dock and let Kent get the car back it in to the water then walk over t the boat jump in and drive the boat on the trailer while I was people watching and protecting my girls from the drunks on the dock and the yelling at each other because people had to much to drink.  I wanted to get the heck out of there!  We made it safely out of there!
Sunday we got up and did it all over again.
We stayed down by the dam on a sandy beach.
More playing in the water ad staying cool.
 More relaxing.
These people made this water slide and we sat and watched them go down it all day.  They got some crazy air at the end!!
we did a lot of this.

 Some more of that.
Had another great river trip!  We decided to come hoe on Monday morning, tat way we could get grocery shopping done and be ready for the week of school and work.  Kent's parents had a BBQ at their house too, so we came home and had an amazing dinner of Ribs, salads and stuffed jalapenos for dinner. Perfect ending to a perfect weekend.

Rick

Rick was having trouble with his brakes, so dad showed him how to change the rotors and brake pads. Of coarse I had to blog it.  Rick said that my flash was bugging him, every time I clicked a picture he would be blinded.  HAHAHA

Glad he has a great dad to show him how to do all these fun things that "guys" need to know how to do.
Plus it was fun to watch him. =)
I remember when I started driving, my dad would make me get under the car and "help" him change the oil in my car or if we had a flat dad would make us "help" him change it.  He would always say "you may never find a man like dad that will do these things for you, so you better learn to do it yourself."  Well, I am so thankful I found someone to do these things for me, cause I don't think I could do either if my life depended on it.
