Memorial at the river

We had an amazing Memorial weekend at the river.
With great friends, great food and lots of fun.
I took Amy out of school early on Friday, we (Hannah, Amy and myself) headed to the river.  Kent was coming later after work.  After we arrived we unloaded the car, did our grocery shopping for the weekend, walked to the river to play and then headed to el Placio for dinner.
The three of us had a great time.
My sweet girls cooling of in the river.
Finally daddy arrived with our friends.  We visited for a bit, then they left for their hotel.
Saturday we hooked up early and headed to the lake. It was pretty windy but we powered through.
We found a beach to share with these guys.  We thought for sure they would leave when we unloaded. Nope, they were there for the long haul.   The momma had a very new baby with her.  The other 3 burros where males.  They taught our girls a crash course in sex ed or animal planet up close and personal.  It was crazy!
The males would get a little aggressive from time to time.
Here is the baby.  She wasn't looking very good and we decided to leave before we had another lesson in life  out on the water.
So we packed up and headed out into the wind and rough water.  T
he girls wanted to Knee board so they did.
 The they wanted to tube
So they did.  Here all 4 of them are on for a ride.
Hannah got a little nervous so she wanted to off.
After a full afternoon of boating and playing we headed in.  I cooked burgers at the river house and we hung out there. Right after our friends headed to their hotel, we had a visit from another family arrive.  The Leyva's came by for a visit. It was fun to visit with them too.
Sunday we knew it would be windy again, so we decided to head out on the river. Kent charged and purchased a new battery for the seadoo's and we headed out.  Spent a great day down in Needles at our Friend Marilyn's place. Her son Darren and his family was there too.  It was a great time.  We headed down to Pirates cove just to check things out and on our way back to Marilyn's we found our friends on a beach.  So we visited there as well.  Sad our goodbyes and headed back up river.  The wind was really going by then and the water was FREEZING.  I made a yummy dinner of Chicken burritos and we visited again for hours.  so fun, we laughed and laughed.
(No pictures from Saturday, I was busy driving the boat and just never had a chance to get it out of the bag).  Oh ya, I think I hit something on the river because the prop has a little ding in it.  Kent said no big deal he thinks he can repair it.

Monday = The most BEAUTIFUL day on the water.
No Windy, I mean absolutely NONE, ZIP, ZERO.
No one on the water either.  they must have all been hung over or maybe heading home.
We actually found a beach area on near the dam, we hung out and the girls climbed the mountain, tubed, and water skied.
If you look closely I actually skied too.  We only had the kids skis and I was in the water with the girls helping them, so I asked Kent to take the bar off the front and i slipped my feet in and net thing I was yelling hit it and up I went.  I was laughing so hard and leaned back to much and fell.  I also tried to get up on one ski and was not able too.  My goal this summer is to get up on a single!!!
I was so proud of the girls, they really did great!!

We also came across this.  Looks like someone was going to fast and hit something pretty hard and sunk the boat.
Weird to have it anchored right around the corner from us.  I hope no one was hurt.

Ok thats it for now, I have more cute pictures to post. I'll be back tomorrow with some more.

Strawberry Festival

Kent is working in Ventura, so Saturday we went to the Strawberry Festival in Oxnard.  If you park and ride its free but if you park at the festival its 10 bucks.  So we arrived at the mall to catch our bus.  Hannah was so excited to ride a bus.
Not just any bus, it was a school bus!!
We followed the bus into the parking lot and I showed the girls what our ride was and this is the reaction I got.
Oh gosh, Hannah could hardly contain her excitement.
She yelled over to us " I don't have to sit in a car seat and I don't have a seatbelt on".
 Amy wanted strawberry shortcake.
The rides where included in the cost of getting in, totally sucked because the wait for a ride was ridiculous.  So they rode the train, can you see how excited Amy was?
We walked around to all the venders, but it was so crowded I couldn't stand it anymore.  They had too many people in a small area.  So I bought my strawberries and we got the heck out.  Rode the bus back to the car.  Which for Hannah was better then any ride at the festival.

As we headed home, I first tried to stop by the Weitzman's.  I use to be their nanny a long time ago.  However, they were about to leave.  So I will set up a time to go back just to see them!

As we were approaching Burbank, we decided to detour and see Nana.  we quickly jumped off the freeway and arrived at her living facility.  We searched high and low for this woman!  She has so many friends and does so much stuff everyday.  We finally found her in the dinning room with her friends.  She was so surprised to see us. we asked if she had ordered dinner.  She didn't remember and none of her friends seem to know either.  So she hoped up from the table and we walked to her room to get her purse.  The girls were so excited to spend sometime with nana great!
We asked what she felt like and he said a burger sounded good. She was in luck!  Fuddruckers right down the street!  The girls insisted on sitting on either side of Nana great!
Here we are waiting for our salads and NOT burgers. Boo for the diet!
Back to Nana's place.  I take a picture of the girls running in the garage every time we go.
Look how big my baby looks. =(
Back to her room to visit before heading home.  Hannah kept telling Nana she liked her new bed.  Nana kept telling Hannah she liked it too.  So cute.
 Here we all are.
What a great day with family!

OMG (Oh my gosh) so delish recipes

Pizza-fied Chicken
You can find this recipe in Hungrygirl 1-2-3 page 30
Basically, it is pizza but the crust is chicken.  So yummy.  I am not kidding tasted like pizza!
With only 282 calories per chicken.
(There is 3 servings in this picture, I didn't put the veggies on one for the kids. The serving was huge.)
 Backyard BBQ beef cups
You can find this recipe in Hungrygirl 1-2-3, page 96
So yummy, tasted like little mini BBQ burgers.
With only 133 calories per cup, I went ahead and ate two!
 Side picture of the cups.
(I did substitute the ground beef for ground turkey & I added a sprinkle of Mozzarella cheese to the top).
If any of you don't have this cookbook and you want the recipe, let me know I will type it out.
Really, I have only had 1 recipe so far that I crossed out in my cookbook and wrote DISGUSTING across it.  Otherwise, everything is really amazing and most are pretty easy to make after working all day. ;)

Zac Brown Band

Kent bought me tickets to see Zac Brown Band for Mother's day.  The concert was last Saturday night at the Hollywood Bowl.  My friend Michelle watched both girls for us.  We went to dinner at Elephant Bar and then headed to the concert.  It was pretty cold out but it was still fun.  I didn't take my camera because I was afraid they would make me leave in the car.  However, I saw lots of people with them.  Anyway it was great concert and just fun to get out with my hubby!

Just some random stuff...

Meet Allison
Allison is Ricky's ex-girlfriends new baby. (Not Ricky's baby, no grandma jokes needed)!  Ricky and I both are still very close to his ex and she just had her baby last Tuesday 5/10/11.  So after work I walked over to the hospital to see her and take a little gift.  She is now a single mommy at a young age and having been there myself, she needs all the love and support she can get.  Matter of fact, I recently gave her Amy and Hannah's crib and all the bedding.  She loved it and I was happy to give it to someone who would use it and appreciate it!! =)

Now meet Ever Ann
Do you remember last September I gave my friend Bonnie from work a baby shower?  Well Ever is now 7 months old.  Her mommy and daddy had an appointment last Thursday and I got to babysit.  She is a total doll.  Super cute and sweet.  Then her mommy came back on Friday and we went on a walk together.  Hannah was having a blast getting to play with her.

Check out this cute girl, she weighs in at about 29 lbs.  Take a good look at her.  Now imagine caring that around with you 24/7.  Well as of now I am 35 lbs lighter, that is more then this little chick weighs! Crazy to think when you see it like this.  Kent is down 50 lbs and if you put those together we have lost more weight then Amy and Hannah weigh together!!!

Crazy Hair Crazy girls:
Friday was the Highland Country fair at Amy's school.  While Kent and I were working our class booth, our Friend Don was in charge of the girls. So when he came back with them this is what they looked like!
We went to dinner after the fair and we had to drag them out looking like this! HA!!  It was fun, we didn't care.  The girls were happy to be crazy and silly.
Happy Monday friends!

Mother's Day weekend, Part III, The final Chapter

Hi, bet you thought I would never finish this book.
Sunday, Mother's Day we got up and I went for a walk around the neighborhood, while the girls were still sleeping.  when I came home, Kent wanted to go to breakfast but I had already planned on cooking at the river house and with dieting its really not much fun to eat out.  So Kent took the girls to get doughnuts.  I made myself cottage cheese and fruit.  Then we packed for the water.  It was windy and we thought about the river, however the river water is so cold.  So we went back up to the lake. No line again, so we launched at Katherine's.
The girls wanted to tube again.
 They had a blast.
Then I hopped on with Hannah.
Amy thought she felt like doing some tricks.
We found a sandy beach and the girls played and swam.
 Ate our lunch.
 Some where messy eaters!
 Swam some more.
 Cuddled with me.
 More pictures.
My girls, just missing my boy!
 More swimming and snorkeling.
 Daddy time.
When we got home, she passed out on the floor.
I even vacuumed around her and she never woke up!
This was a great Mother's day weekend. Hope you all had the same.
The end!

Mother's Day weekend, Chapter II Bapa's Birthday

Saturday was the big 70th birthday bash for John / Bapa.  This is our friends dad/ grandfather and a friend of ours.  We were invited to celebrate his big day with all of them.  The party was at their house in Bullhead City, AZ. They have a place on the river, it was a nice day and the kids played.
Hannah, Amy, Linkyn and Payton in the pool.
 Krista, me and Tawnya.
John was giving tube rides on the river.  This is Miss. Amy in the tube.
 Hannah loves Payton.
Amy and Travis, really get along great.  These 2 when they are together, just take off.  They go play, talk and just have a great time together.  I hope they have this friendship forever!  Travis is a year older then Amy and they just click!  Good thing because his mom is my BFF.
Amanda, Katie and Brenda, with Hannah, Blake, Lexi, Jaxon, Payton, Linkyn.
HA!  These girls I think wanted to relax in the sun.
However, they were invaded with all these little monkeys!
 The Birthday Boy!
Krista took the girls for a ride.  Amy had the best weekend, she did so much stuff.
Then the afternoon party was starting to slow down, we still had dinner party at Jim and Linda's house for the fight, dinner and poker party.  Bapa is one lucky guy!  Anyway, Dave and Brenda invited us to their house for swimming in the pool.  So Danielle, Linkyn, myself and Hannah headed over to hang out there for a while.
She loves the water.  I need to get her in swim lesson's ASAP!
No pictures from the evening dinner party, but we had a blast!  Happy birthday Bapa!  Hope yo enjoyed your day and much as we did!
