November 17, 2011

was our 10 year wedding anniversary!
Wow, I can't believe 10 years!!
Kent has been working like a dog, he was able to get home from work at a decent hour, we enlisted Ricky to babysit so we could have dinner together free of kids. I picked up a pizza for them on the way home from gymnastics.
By then it was late and we didn't know what we wanted, we decided on Macaroni grill.
We had a nice dinner, even though hubby was tired and NOT very talkative. The waiter brought us a yummy dessert after dinner.  Since it is not on our diet menu we eat a few bites of it and left it on the table.  Go us!!
We were not going to exchange gifts but since it was our 10 years and we didn't really do anything big.  I decided to get Kent the Kindle Fire. I pre ordered in October and it wasn't suppose to ship until the 17th,  however, it shipped on Tuesday and I had it in my hand on Wednesday.  Kent was so surprised!  He loves it.  He gave me a Mio Calorie Management System with a pedometer!  I am so excited, I need to figure it all out.  Its even in my favorite color, PINK!
Happy Anniversary Kent.
I am looking forward to the next 10 years and more.

Thanksgiving Feast

On Thursday we had a feast in Amy's class room. It was fun.  I don't understand why we can't get parents to help.  It was me and another dad, the same two who are in the class every Friday for Family Friday.  Nope no one else shows up.
So Tim and I sponsored the whole feast.
Tim made a Turkey, baby corn, carrots, juice and cranberries.
I made Homemade mashed potatoes, gravy, paper products and 2 pies.
I was teaching the kids how to properly set the table. Then I had a few helpers that followed me to set each place.
 Amy is the photographer.
This is her friend Mia.
Hannah and part of my butt!!
 Settng the table.
 More friends.

 Ready to eat.

Even Hannah gets a spot. She loves going to the school.

 The kids loved it!

Happy Thanksgiving friends, see you all in a week.
(Amy is out of school for a week now! Woot woot)

Day 4 Pismo Beach 11/13/11

Sunday, another beautiful day!  We got up had breakfast, While Kent and I packed up the motorhome the girls rode bikes and played at the playground.
This was our campsite.
After we ready ready to hit the rode the girls wanted one last bike ride, so we walked while they rode.
This is the walk way to the back bay right where we camped.
 It was so pretty.
 Back bay.
Just over that sand dune is where we were yesterday playing in the sand and water.
One last trip to the playground.

And we were out!  We decided to stop in Simi Valley and see my parents.  They had just gotten home on Saturday from their trip.  They had been gone for 6 weeks.   So we met them in a parking lot and had lunch in our motorhome before heading home.  We were on the last stretch home o River road or archibald and Kent needed to pee, he kept saying if the light is red he was jumping up and I need to get in the driver seat.  Well, look who drove the last stretch home.  (Probably a whooping 6 miles)
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed our trip as much as we did!!

Day 3 Pismo Beach 11/12/11

We woke up to a beautiful morning with clear blue sky.  The girls immediately wanted to put bathing suits on and head to the beach.  So we jumped on our bikes and headed to the beach.  The water was FREEZING!  Amy didn't care, she got wet.
Hannah doesn't care for the cold water so much, instead she just LOVES the sand.
The dark clouds started rolling in, but they were NOT carrying rain.
 The beach was so pretty.
 Loving the sand.
Daddy dug a hole for them.
The we walked on the pier, we were watching the surfers.  They are some crazy guys to sit in the FREEZING water waiting for the perfect wave.
Funny the girls are in bathing suits and kent and I were bundled up.  Aww, to be kids again....
The girls finally got cold and we decided to go check out the dunes. I have to say it was very cool to drive right on the beach.
So crazy to camp right on the beach.  I think I would love that.  The only problem is we don't want to take the motorhome. We only saw about 3 pushers out there the rest were trucks and trailers with 4 wheel drive.
This is so cool. I can't wait to go back!
Both girls napped in the jeep, so when we got back to the campground they wanted to swim. So we did!! The pool was heated and they had a blast.

While the girls swam, Kent and I played a mean game of Acey deuce. We get a little competitive when it comes to acey deuce and cribbage.  I know we are like an old couple playing games.  But we enjoy them.
All done back to the motorhome we go.
We played the championship game, to which I lost.  Then we cooked dinner, after dinner we rode our bikes to a frozen yogurt place.  Then we had a campfire and a drink!
Perfect day at the beach!
Stay tuned for the last day.

Day 2 Friday Afternoon 11/11/11

We finally arrived at Pismo Coast Village and the clouds were getting dark and a storm was in our near future.  We got the motorhome all parked and set up.  The kids rode bikes and played on the playground for a bit.  Then the rain started.  We decided to take a drive.  So we headed to the Madonna inn.  Kent had never been there before.  We used the bathroom, the girls liked the "fancy Nancy" type bathroom, although they need to work on it a bit.  Its sure has aged.  Then took the girls and several ladies (we didn't know) into the mens bathroom to see the rock urinal.
We also went to down town San Luis Obispo.
Tihis was a walk way we had parked next too.  Super pretty.
 Crossed a wood bridge.
Took the girls to gum ball alley, seriously gross.  The alley smelled of al sorts of gum favors.
People are very creative with their chewed gum, I'll tell ya.  They made pictures and words to stick on the wall.
Then we headed to Morro Bay.
Even in the rain the beach was beautiful.
 It was freezing.

 Still having a good time.

 Leaving Morro bay.
We decided to get a starbucks and head back to camp.  It was really pouring by the time we got back.  So I cooked our chicken in the motorhome and Kent went to pick up some Clam Chowder from Splash Cafe,  let me tell you it was the BEST clam chowder I have ever had!!  It warmed us up nicely.  We had to stay in and watched movies until bed time.
Stay tuned for day 3.
