Bring on summer....

Ain't she a beauty?
Our air conditioner is old and tired. I believe this beauty is the original, probably 30 + years old. Well, she has seen her last working (sorta) summer. This weekend my hubby put a brand new air conditioner in. Our hope is we can actually cool the house and save money! Up until now our summer electric bill has been well over $400.00 bucks each month and our house was HOT. Basically, during the summer we would live in the back part of the house (bedrooms) because that was only place it was cool. She will continue to live with us (on the roof) until we can afford the new roof and crane to lift her down. At that time she will have a proper burial.

However, her inners have all been taken away.
Mean while my 2 car garage was turned into a make shift air conditioning storage unit.
Ricky and Grandpa working. Did you notice my blonde hair son is no longer blonde?
He had his hair colored and its black.
Funny how a giant box can make two girls giggle and have fun. These two played in this box for two days straight.
Fresh cement
Grandpa was supervising while Kent was doing the electrical.
Now that is a true beauty. Look at her just sitting there.
and finally the best part of all.
Drum roll please.......
my garage is a two car garage again!!
Ahh, what a beautiful thing.

Playing with chalk

Easter weekend our slide on the motor home broke, so Kent took it apart and his dad found us a new motor for $100.00. Woot woot. This week Kent had to take out the storage so he could sit under the motor home to put the new one in.

Kent asked me to find him a 1/2 inch wrench in the bucket in the garage for him. So this what I had to dig through to find one. Who has a bucket of wrenches anyway??
So while Kent was fixing the motor, me and the girls played in the front yard.
Don't forget to stop and smell the roses, oops I mean the daisies.
Ring around the roses.....
Look at that face.

She was hop scotching with sister.
Amy was pretty good at it.
Glad this week is OVER! It was pretty crazy and not much sleep. Rick was at urgent care two nights in a row. First night (Wednesday) his gf took him, but I couldn't go to sleep until I knew everything was ok. They got home at 11:40 p.m.. Then Thursday night he was still having stomach pains. So I called and they said to bring him back. So I took him hi at we got home just after 11:00 p.m.. I still have my cough (3 weeks now) So every time I lay down my start coughing and can't sleep. Then Hannah had a fever for two days not sure why, I think its her teeth. Wednesday night Kent woke up and got ready for work at 1:40 a.m. (this was also the night I went to bed at midnight) then realized it was 1:40 a.m.! ! He thought it was 3:40 a.m.!! So he got back undressed and back to bed. UGH.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Easter weekend extravaganza

I bet you won't believe what we did for Easter? Ah, you guessed it, camping again!
I bet you can't guess where we camped? Ah, you guessed it again, Ocotillo Wells.
I bet, oh never mind, you already know.
We arrived fairly early on Good Friday and actually got a ride in that afternoon.
Saturday, we did more of the same, lots of riding and visiting with our fellow campers.

So Hannah has already had her first run in with the law. While doing this with her daddy.
Yep, you heard me, she got pulled over. Kent was riding Hannah around the camp fire in our camp and the Ranger turned on his lights and siren and pulled them over. Why you ask? Well Kent had NO helmet and riding double is illegal. Thank goodness no tickets but Kent got a lecture on how he was being a bad influence to the other kids in the group.
This meant the rest of the weekend Hannah got to ride her quad (or bike as she calls it) all by herself. Yep, I have her on video riding her quad and she isn't even two yet! Kent has the throttle turned way down, he can walk faster then the quad can go. Still she pushes the gas and goes.
Saturday afternoon, we rounded up the kids and dyed Easter eggs.
Hannah's first time, she would get an egg and toss it in the cup and all the dye would splash every where. Glad we were outside.

After the eggs were all colored, I had brought a cookie decorating kit and the kids decorated a cookie and walked away eating them.
I got a bit overwhelmed with all the kids, so I didn't get a good picture of all of them.
About 12 kids or so.
Just because Hannah is so cute in my kitchen sink!
Our Friend Will, had a slight fall on his motorcycle Saturday afternoon. So that night our other friends the Browns had come by for a visit and Martha was kind enough to clean Wills wounds with peroxide.
and this one. Poor guy had some kind of scrape on EVERY limb.
The wind was blowing so hard Saturday night, we had to stand behind the motorhome to get out of the weather.
Easter morning, that silly rabbit hit a couple of baskets in the motorhome. Hannah's was behind the drivers seat.
Amy's was in our shower!! What was he thinking??
The girls digging into their treats.
Priceless
New shades.
Hannah and Payton playing with Paytons new toys.
Then we had a Easter Egg hunt. I believe there was 12 kids, and this was after 5 already had gone home. Yikes, I think the kids out numbered the adults this time.
On your mark, get set, GO!!
So cute.
Krista was helping Hannah get her candy out.
Girls still looking for more eggs.
After the egg hunt, we took a family ride to the tether ball.
The kids played a bit, the weather was beautiful.

I love this baby. Look at this face. Little Payton is so happy!
Next stop the street sign.
Amy, Jarrett and Travis hiked to the top.
HAPPY EASTER!!

1st grade open house

Last Thursday was open house at Amy's school.
Here she is standing in front of her class room.

This is her desk and she was showing us all her projects they have worked on during the year.
She is so cute and was so excited to show us all her stuff.
We finally got to see flat Stanley. I guess they made a flat version of themselves and had to send it to someone far away. The job of the family member who received it was to spend a few days or a week with them. We sent flat stanley all the way to Simi Valley. My dad took it on an adventure and took pictures of the day they had. So flat stanley was hanging there with the information. Pretty cute. Some people where so creative.

Yummy dinner

Last week I Made Steak bites and I cooked Artichokes in the crookpot. Everything was so delish. Thought I would share it with you.
